Residential Sprinkler System
448 Sprinkler Heads
Welland Quarter is a large-scale residential development in Market Harborough requiring a fully coordinated sprinkler system designed in line with BS 9251.
With a total of 448 sprinkler heads, this project demanded a high level of design coordination and attention to detail across a substantial residential scheme.
Nationwide Sprinklers were appointed to develop a compliant sprinkler design that provided effective protection throughout the residential areas, while integrating seamlessly with the building layout and other services.
Design & Coordination
On a project of this size, coordination is critical — particularly when working around architectural features, ceiling layouts and potential service clashes.
The system was designed to ensure full coverage across all required areas, with careful consideration given to:
- Sprinkler head positioning
- Pipework routing
- Riser locations
- Ceiling coordination
- Service integration
Maintaining consistency across 448 sprinkler heads required a structured and methodical approach to design, ensuring both compliance and ease of installation on site.
Delivering a Practical Solution
Throughout the design process, we worked to balance performance and practicality to ensure the system could be installed efficiently without compromising on compliance or quality.
Close coordination with the wider project team allowed us to manage the complexity of the scheme while maintaining programme requirements and installation efficiency.
The Outcome
Welland Quarter showcases Nationwide Sprinklers’ ability to deliver large-scale residential sprinkler designs, managing complexity while maintaining a clear focus on coordination, accuracy and high standards of fire protection throughout.
The completed design provides a fully compliant solution tailored to the demands of a modern residential development.
